More than 100 registered clubs from across NSW, including Twin Towns, have been named as finalists in the industry’s prestigious Clubs & Community Awards, which recognise outstanding social contributions made by Clubs and individuals.
Twin Towns Conference & Convention Manager Chrissie Thomas is a finalist for her ongoing support of Rainbow Warriors Women In Business. These regular events for 80 to 100 women focus on well-being, business strategy and learning, media, community and networking. The group nominated Chrissie, who they say has been an incredible support in helping them move forward and grow as a local chapter.
Last year, staff from Twin Towns and Salvation Army Club Chaplain Marty Thompson, began the ‘Man Walk’, giving locals the opportunity for a weekly get-together and the chance to meet and interact with other men. Over the past six months, the numbers have grown, the health and fitness of many of the men has improved, and a great connection and companionship has developed between participants.
The winners will be announced at the Clubs & Community Awards gala dinner to be held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney, on 2 November. The Board congratulates the Twin Towns finalists, and whether they win or not, it’s great to see the Club acknowledged for their winning role in our local community.
