The Board extends their congratulations and thanks to Joe for his ongoing commitment and dedication to the Sub-Branch and ex-service men and women within the local community.
Dorothy Mortimer
Deserving recipient of Life Membership is Twin Towns Seniors Social Club stalwart, Dorothy Mortimer.
Over the course of the past 30 years, Dorothy has undertaken a daunting workload for the Seniors Social Club in various committee roles.
It all began after moving to Tweed Heads in 1987. Dorothy became a member of Twin Towns and was introduced to the Seniors Social Club by a friend. She had only been a member of the Seniors Social Club for a short time when the position of secretary became vacant. No one really wanted the role so Dorothy stepped in until a permanent replacement could be found.
Many years later in 2002, the Seniors Club’s Tour and Social organiser retired. Dorothy recruited a new Secretary to replace her, took on the new role, then added Publicity Officer to her duties as well. During her years with the Seniors Club, Dorothy has been President, Junior Vice President and has filled in for almost every other vacant position on the Committee.
Twin Towns is proud to have members like Dorothy, and the Board extends their congratulations on her outstanding commitment to her beloved Seniors Social Club.
