Special Education Teacher, Bridie Beard, said Twin Towns “brought dreams to life” for students and teachers at Banora Point High School.
The school received ClubGRANTS of $29,500 from Twin Towns to build an inclusive, engaging and stimulating outdoor environment for students with disabilities and special learning and sensory needs.
When Directors saw first-hand the passion and commitment for the project shown by the teachers, Twin Towns chipped in an additional $10,500 from the Community Foundation.
Bridie’s students can now develop work-ready skills in an authentic, hands-on environment. The kids also have the tools to grow, harvest and cook their own organic food.
Twin Towns received a Highly Commended Award at the ClubsNSW Clubs & Community Awards for its funding of this project.
