On the Road with Twinnies Gives

If you spot the bright new Twinnies Gives jeep out and about in the local community, it’s likely Twin Towns’ Community Engagement Officer, Kym Kranen, will be behind the wheel.

Kym has been visiting many local community organisations that have reached out to Twinnies Gives for funding through ClubGRANTS or the Twin Towns Services Community Foundation.

Prior to taking up the community-focused position at Twin Towns in October, Kym was a strong supporter of regional economic growth and development through senior roles with State and Local Government.

She has built deep connections and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the local community and has amassed a wealth of knowledge of all things ‘grants and funding’.

Kym can offer assistance to those navigating the ClubGRANTS application process or advice to those whose applications are not likely to meet the specific requirements for Club funding.

“Sometimes, we receive applications for funding that fall outside the criteria for Category 1 or 2 ClubGRANTS donations.

“I can work with these organisations to help source alternative funding opportunities or link them up with government agencies, philanthropic foundations and businesses to try and gain the financial support they need.”

Kym recently assisted Banora Point High School with details of a grant offered by a private company teachers were previously unaware of.

They have since applied for funds to purchase much needed STEM equipment and are hopeful of a successful result.

Kym says her passion is working with community organisations to help them achieve the best possible outcomes for important projects or programs that need funding.

“Hearing their applications have been approved is the icing on the cake!

“Twinnies ‘Gives’ in so many ways many people are unaware of. If we can’t help for whatever reason, we’ll use our resources to try and find someone who can.”
