Last month, Twin Towns Directors and representatives attended the annual Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal breakfast to deliver a cheque for $5,000 on behalf of Twin Towns members.
This year’s donation will assist The Salvation Army with their work in the local community.
This includes food assistance at Christmas-time for those in financial distress, a weekly breakfast program at two local schools, a weekly café providing morning tea and a lunch meal for those in financial distress or suffering loneliness, Christmas supper for anyone disconnected or financially challenged, and various other projects aimed at local families.
Twin Towns Board Chair Brian Brown said The Salvation Army is the first to step in to assist in a crisis and the first to offer hope and support to those who have fallen on hard times.
“Over the years, Twin Towns has donated hundreds of thousands to The Salvation Army and their various appeals and we have built a solid relationship with the local Salvation Army team.
“They do inspiring work, especially in the local area, and the welfare of others is at the heart of everything they do.
“We will continue to offer support to the Salvos whenever and wherever we can,” said the Board Chair.
