Live well, be well, age well, and stay connected with the Club you love.
Over the past few years, Twin Towns social groups have become a regular source of contact and connection for members, especially seniors.
Now we’re introducing a new group, Ageing Well, an industry-first initiative designed to change perceptions and create awareness around ageing.
Ageing Well is perfect for those experiencing physical challenges, mild cognitive impairment, a diagnosis of dementia or other age-related problems, or those who would like to be prepared for the years ahead. Partners or family members are also welcome to attend.
Ageing Well will be hosted by Guest Support Manager Kim Ashby, Deb Stephens, Managing Director of Home Care Society and Carol Peach, Community Liaison Manager at Dovida.
Deb and Carol have over 30 years of combined experience working with older adults. They can explain how members can access services they need and navigate the sometimes complex journey of ageing.
Guest speakers will give members the opportunity to ask questions and interact with experts on age-related topics in a calm, supportive and comfortable environment.
Guest Support Manager Kim Ashby said the end goal is to assure older adults they are not alone.
“Twin Towns is a place where people socialise and make new friends. It’s a perfect example of a community club where members feel a sense of belonging.
“Ageing doesn’t mean this has to stop.
“We want all older adults to feel safe and supported when they come to Twin Towns and we want to help preserve and maintain the experience they have always enjoyed.
“We don’t want age to be the barrier that stops them from socialising or limits their ability to continue to visit the Club they love.” said Kim.
