Vibe Care Pantry has a brand-new $296,000 refrigerated delivery truck, thanks to Twinnies Gives.
The truck has lightened the load for this community organisation that provides low-cost and free groceries to vulnerable families, schools, homeless and many other local community organisations.
Pastor of Vibe Church, David Nahi, said the support they have received from Twin Towns over the years has been “an absolute blessing”.
“This truck is a big deal for us! It will expand our food distribution and increase deliveries to families and shelters,” said David.
The donation was a joint effort. It was made possible through Twin Towns’ giving platform known as ‘Twinnies Gives’, which unites the funding efforts and capabilities of ClubGRANTS, the Twin Towns Services Community Foundation and donations made directly by the Twin Towns Group.
A contribution of $150,000 was made via the state-wide Government-administered scheme ClubGRANTS. To cover the $146,000 shortfall, the Club’s philanthropic arm, the Twin Towns Services Community Foundation, stepped in to help.
Community Foundation Chair Ken Culpitt said the Directors recognised the incredible work Vibe Care Pantry do in the local community, especially for the homeless and families struggling to put food on their tables.
“We were pleased to provide the additional funds needed to cover the purchase. The new 25-tonne truck is impressive, and we hope it keeps Vibe Care Pantry mobile for another 10 years at least,” said Ken.
David said their smaller truck often had to leave great products behind, simply because they couldn’t fit them onboard.
“We thank Twin Towns for their generosity and support of our efforts to provide food for thousands of people every week.
“Without Vibe Care Pantry, many would go hungry. God bless you all,” said David.
Twinnies Gives will continue to provide financial assistance to its local community, when and where it is needed most.
